How to Convert Plain Text to a Reusable Variable

You can convert plain text in your documents into a reusable variable in SmartDocs. The SmartDocs Replace Text with Reusable Variable dialog box is very similar to the Find and Replace feature in Microsoft® Word.

To Convert Plain Text to a Reusable Variable

1. Select the SmartDocs tab.
2. Select the Variable Actions drop-down menu.
3. Select the Find and Replace option.
4. Enter the plain text to search for in the Find Text field.
5. Select the variable to replace the plain text with from the Replace With drop-down field.
6. Click Replace or Replace All. And SmartDocs will replace all matching plain text with the selected reusable variable.
